Welcome to the Trellis Café in Hubbards on the beautiful South Shore of Nova Scotia. The food we serve at the Trellis Café is home cooked and baked. Each day starts with the smell of whole wheat bread baking in the oven and fresh ground organic Fair Trade coffee filling up a cup. We use fresh local ingredients wherever possible. Fresh haddock arrives at the back door directly from the fishing boats, and eggs and meat are delivered from the farm. Real food!

“…Our reader’s recommendations for year-round restaurants on the South Shore…The Trellis in Hubbards, within walking distance of the wharf, offers art on the walls, music on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, and good haddock too…”
Silver Donald Cameron, The Nova Scotian (Chronicle Herald), February 15, 2009

Complimentary Wireless Internet
service is always available.

“Thank you so much, not only for the absolutely delicious food but for the wonderful service....your staff is both attentive and happy.....a wonderful combination. We will be bringing friends to the Trellis for sure this summer and recommending it to anyone who will listen! It was lovely to meet you....now we know why your staff is so happy!”

Dan and Lois Sinclair, Port Medway, Nova Scotia, April, 2009

We are open year round with 50 seats inside and another 25 on the patio which is open whenever our guests wish to use it. We are licensed with full bar service, cocktails, wine and beer.

“Congratulations to staff and management at the Trellis Café for all of the effort they’ve been put into recycling and composting! Trellis Café leads the way in waste management by using bamboo and paper containers for take-out orders, buying supplies in bulk, and not buying or selling pre-packaged products that create extra waste. What staff doesn’t reuse in the kitchen, they recycle. All of this extra effort makes for a GREAT waste management program!”
Municipality of the District of Chester, Business Rewards, The Clipper, January, 2009

The Trellis Café is also a venue for live music, entertainment and local art exhibitions. Click here for details.

We strive to meet the needs of our guests with good healthy food, friendly service in a comfortable and safe environment. We are family friendly and welcome all guests. Exceeding your expectations is our goal and making dining an experience that you’ll enjoy is our pleasure.

“We were there to eat at your wonderful establishment on our trip to NS.  I must say it left a very good impression on us. The food was delicious!  It was one of the best places we ate at all the time we were gone. We wish that we had found you sooner!!”
Sheah Sullivan, St. Stephen, NB
